Gary Goyette, Esq.

Since joining Goyette & Associates, Gary has focused on wage and hour litigation, employment law matters, and commercial litigation. In addition to successfully representing both employers in the defense of harassment & discrimination claims, and employees in seeking to reverse unjustified discipline, Gary has represented both small and large groups of employees in wage & hour claims. These claims have ranged from a suits seeking improperly withheld overtime pay for public employees working more than eight hours per shift, to a class action lawsuit for private employees misclassified as exempt from overtime law. Gary helped achieve a recovery of 1.4 million dollars in settlement of this class action for unpaid overtime, missed meal and rest periods, and penalties & interest.

Gary's extensive knowledge of the federal FLSA law, state wage law (set forth in both the Labor Code and in the Industrial Welfare Commission Wage Orders), and the state Department of Labor Standards and Enforcement (DLSE) manual and opinion letters, together with his energy and enthusiasm for recovering damages properly owed to employees due to the wage law violations of their employers, enables him to aggressively and effectively handle wage & hour claims for a variety of clients.
